Super Runabout

Description

I get home, throw my stuff on the floor, run to my shrine, sorry my Dreamcast, and I insert the disc. As I load up the various menus and trawl through the quite pointless and extremly boring intro's to the two scenarios which have no speech, just subtitles, I think about what car I should use. From the back of the case it seems there is a wonderful array of them from a Ferrari 355 lookalike, to a Tank.

So why do you think I was dissapointed when the car selection screen loaded up. Sitting there was what could be described as a motoring legend, a legacy to the city commuter and mod alike. A Vespa. A bloody Vespa!!! I wouldn't mind if only it handled like a Vespa but it doesn't. Tap the brake and it'll to more spins in the following seconds than Torville and Dean did in their whole career.

Still not to worry, to start with in the first scenario there is also a redneck pick up truck, a look-alike Merc A-class and an Lamborghini type thing. Unfortunatly there aren't any real cars but they look so much like the real things, that it doesn't matter. It's certainly worth trawling through the levels overe and over to try and get all the bonus cars such as the Honda NSX look-alike, the Peugout 406 look-alike, a Tank and even a pig... ...That does 30mph.

The levels are marvelous too. Even though it's based purley in San-Francisco, there is a lot of variety and some famouse landmarks thrown in. Going in to the back of someone @ 175mph in a crowded street is absolutly hilarious becasue the vehicle you hit usually flys across the road and into more inoccent traffic.

The few levels that stray away from the city are just as good. The aircraft carrier being one of notable fun. Imagine going down an aircraft crarrier in your Hummer or even the Vespa and writing off every aircarft on it causing $2,500,000 to each and every one.

If you are looking for a realistic driving sim then go for M-SR or Ferrari F355. If you just want to drive like a nutter and are bored with crazy Taxi then give this a spin. You might just enjoy it
